Seen
Every SEND child recognised for who they are and what they bring — not defined by a diagnosis or a deficit.
Inclusion · Strengths · Flourishing
Not tolerated. Not merely accommodated. Seen, valued, and thriving alongside their peers. Inclusion 4 Flourishing is a shift in how we think about SEND — moving beyond access and compliance toward helping every child flourish.

A group within the Flourishing Network, hosted by the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University.
The idea
Imagine how different that child's world would be. Imagine how different ours would be. That "imagine if" is the starting point for Inclusion 4 Flourishing.
For decades, SEND provision has been measured by access and by compliance — whether a child is in the room, whether a duty has been met. Those things matter. They are not the same as flourishing.
I4F asks a different question: what would it take for every SEND child to flourish?
Imagine if
Every SEND child recognised for who they are and what they bring — not defined by a diagnosis or a deficit.
Strengths first. Inclusion that starts from what a child can do, and builds the classroom around it.
Not tolerated. Not merely accommodated. Flourishing, alongside their peers, in the room where learning happens.

The community
We are building a global community of SENDCOs, researchers, educators, and policymakers working to turn that "imagine if" into reality: strengths-based, flourishing-centred inclusion in classrooms, not just a policy aspiration.
We'd love to bring more practitioner voices into this global conversation.
Practitioners holding the day-to-day reality of inclusion, whose voices belong at the centre of this conversation.
Leaders shaping culture and provision across settings, ready to move beyond compliance.
Those studying flourishing, wellbeing and special educational needs — and wanting their work to land in classrooms.
Anyone asking the same “imagine if” and willing to help turn it into practice and policy.
